Our Complete Membership Composites

Complete Fraternity Composite

Digital Pix makes sure everyone in your organization is represented.

All composites should represent your entire membership. Encourage full participation. As the years pass, you will want to go back to your composite miniature time and again to help you remember names and faces. No one wants to be forgotten as time dulls your memories. Digital Pix works hard to make sure your composite membership is complete.

Digital Pix has built its entire business model upon the premise that you want to include all of your members on your composite. Whether you are in a Greek Sorority, Fraternity or graduate Nursing class, the representation of your entire group is very important to us. We work closely with your picture chairperson to arrange your photography day(s) to accommodate your members’ busy schedules. But despite everyone’s best efforts, there may be members who, for some reason, cannot be photographed in time for your composite. No worries! Digital Pix has made provisions for including everyone! Working with you as part of our team, we have a solution for almost every circumstance.

Members can appear on the composite either with a photograph or by being listed using a name only. Photographs can come from a few different sources. In order to minimize the practice of displaying members’ “own photos”, or listing them as “Not Pictured”, we prefer that you work with your Personal Account Representative to find alternative photography locations to accommodate members who miss their assigned photography date. We can also provide you with a list of members for whom we have last year’s digital images archived.

How can members appear on the composite?

  • Name Only: In order to create a complete membership composite, if a photograph is not available, we offer the name only option. A member or members may be listed at the bottom of the composite under a “Not Pictured” heading either with or without a title.
  • Current Photo: We can use the current photos that we captured, either on the scheduled photo day, or after, at an alternative location designated by Digital Pix. There is no extra charge for attendance at an alternative location.
  • Previous Year Photo: In instances where a member cannot be photographed in the current year, we can use their Digital Pix image from the prior year, which we have stored in our archives. We archive member photographs and save them beyond each member’s scheduled graduation date, along with their class and pledge details. While archived photos were taken under different lighting conditions and will not exactly match the current year’s photos, Digital Pix will make every effort to correct and enhance archived portraits to more closely match the others on the current year’s composite.
  • “Own Photo”: In special cases, a graduate or nursing class member may supply us with his or her own personal digital photo file. These files must conform to the rigid but mandatory standards required by Digital Pix. Contact us or your account representative for information concerning the use of your “own photos”. For Greek Sororities and Fraternities, the use of “own photos” is not permitted. The use of any “own photo” requires proper authorization and release of copyright from the photographer and/or company. Digital Pix will never violate the copyright ownership of another photographer or photography studio. For more information about photography and copyright law as stated by PMA (Photo Marketing Association), click here.

“Own photos” are designed to be used in the extreme case where a member has exhausted all possibilities to be photographed. Generally, the look of the composite is affected by a less than professional “own photo” submission and the use of “own photos” is regulated to avoid a lesser quality product. Digital Pix will work with your organization and use a member’s “own photo” provided that you sign a release indicating that you and your membership have all been advised and understand that the inclusion of an inconsistent photograph will adversely affect the overall aesthetics and quality of the composite.

Officers and Titles

Complete Sorority Composite

Complete composites include Officers and their titles. The Picture Chairperson will determine the order of the Officers,

Complete composites also include Officers and their titles. Your organization’s picture chairperson will determine the order and correct display of all titled officers. There is no limitation on the number of officers displayed, or titles used, but because of space limitations, Digital Pix will work with your representative to accurately display and properly fit every officer’s title(s) on your composite. Officers who have multiple titles may have their titles abbreviated. All titles will be displayed in the order of importance – most important to least important, or other specific order you request.

Helpful Suggestions for including all members on your composite:

  • Call all of your members who have not scheduled a time to be photographed, specifically encouraging them to sign up.
  • For those who do not sign up, determine who plans to use a Digital Pix archived photo from last year, and who will appear as “Not Pictured”. By alerting Digital Pix of this on the day of photography, you will speed up your composite’s production and delivery. Remember that Digital Pix will provide you with a list of your members with available archived photos.
  • Alternate locations can be helpful for those members that have extremely busy schedules and cannot attend your assigned date. Digital Pix can tell you other photography sessions that members may attend for inclusion on the composite. There is no additional charge for anyone photographed at an alternative location.
  • Work closely with your personal account representative. They will be able to help you determine who was not photographed and what options there are for including them on the composite.
