#

(Inter)National - A term referring to the central organization of a given fraternity or sorority.

A

Advisors - Volunteers who assist Greek Chapters in the pursuit of their national and chapter goals.

Affinity Marketing - Company that represents Greek social fraternities in the protection of their logo, insignia and names. They also protect the quality of products sold containing any of the protected items. Affinity Marketing requires delivery within 90 days of the first scheduled date of photography. Failure to comply with the delivery requirements may place the offending composite company in breach of contract and will void the second year of a two year contract and all subsequent stacked contracts thereafter.

Allied Health Program - Any medical program that is related to a primary organization i.e. Radiation Technicians, Physical Therapists, etc. These groups are often extremely small but are photographed by us as an accommodation to a larger nursing/medical group. Thus, we call them "allied", meaning related to the primary (larger) group.

Attire - Manner of dress selected by an organization for its composite.

Attire - Drape - Mode of dress chosen by an organization to be worn while photographed. The drape was introduced to bring uniformity in appearance to a group. The look is that of a velvet v-neck evening gown. It is frequently combined with pearls for an even more elegant look. Digital Pix is the only composite company that provides drapes in the following colors: black, sapphire blue, ruby red, Peridot green, dark pink, russet and ivory.

Attire - Jacket and Tie - Mode of dress often chosen by fraternities. The attire is always provided by the organization for health reasons.

Attire - Pearls - Necklaces that are often worn during the photo shoot. These are generally provided by the group. We have included in each drape kit, three inexpensive strands of adjustable faux pearls. Having these can speed up photo sessions.

Attire - Scrubs - Mode of dress occasionally chosen by a nursing or allied health organization that is more casual than Whites.

Attire - Specific - Attire that is provided by an organization which satisfies their desire to have a uniform look for their composite. The attire is generally a turtle neck or other type of sweater, generally in black, pink, green or blue.

Attire - Street Clothes - Mode of dress consisting of random street clothes chosen and provided by individual participants.

Attire - Tuxedo - Mode of dress consisting of formal wear provided by the organization

Attire - Whites with hats - Mode of dress consisting of white medical uniforms and hats worn for the composite pose. This attire often requires the display of a nursing school pin (provided by the organization). The pin must be worn by all participants in the same location. The placement is generally the left side approximately centered over the heart. It is best to inquire with the group representative whether this is a requirement and where the pin should be worn. A look at last year's composite can usually tell how this organization prefers the pin to be worn. School specific hats are provided by the organization and the wearing of the hat may be mandatory. Digital Pix will allow groups to wear the hat for the composite, but will also take pictures of members without hats for their portraits.

Attire - Whites without hats - Same as above, with the exclusion of the hat. We do allow nurses the opportunity to be photographed in hats (even where not required for the composite), as this affords the nursing students the opportunity to purchase portraits wearing a hat. This is a very popular option for nurses.

Attire - Whites/hats optional - Self explanatory.

Plaque - Size - Variable - Where plaques are digitally created, we can vary the size of the plaque by scaling down or up as required. This is very important for groups which have large numbers of members and a maximum size restriction that requires some adjustment to plaque size. This scaling must be kept to a minimum because the result is not aesthetically pleasing. It should be used only as a last resort. It is far better to cut down borders and inner plaque/ heading separation to achieve the desired result.

Plaque - Type - Digital - These plaques are created digitally using our proprietary software. The styles, shapes and colors are virtually unlimited.

Plaque - Type - Raised - These plaques are manually constructed using plastic injection molded plaques. They come in black and white, single color plaque styles only. They will eventually be removed from our product line as they are petroleum based products and frivolous at best. Our emphasis at Digital Pix is to reduce our energy footprint, and to continue to provide this product is in direct violation of our common goals. We will address this issue with our customers and wherever possible encourage them to use more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Plaque Layout - Vertically Aligned - This is a plaque arrangement which places each horizontal row of plaques aligned below the row immediately preceding it. Sometimes the composite schematic requires the officer rows to be laid up in a staggered relationship to the general membership.
